The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the Regulator of the telecommunication industry in Nigeria, supports among other things, telecommunication-based innovations, inventions, and research from tertiary institutions in the country that are practical, locally realizable and have a clear potential for developing the telecommunications industry. Dr. Oladayo Olakanmi submitted a proposal for a call for fifteen million naira grant in 2018. The proposal was accepted in April 2019.
